NGT Asks Himachal Pradesh Govt To Clarify Decision On Koksar Carrying Capacity

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Himachal Pradesh government to clarify if it has decided on the carrying capacity for Koksar and nearby tourist spots like Manali and Solang Valley. This directive comes amid concerns about the environmental impact of increasing tourist footfall. The NGT ordered the state government to file a reply within six weeks. The Himachal Pradesh State Pollution Control Board had previously requested a decision on determining carrying capacity to regulate tourist numbers.

नेशनल ग्रीन ट्रिब्यूनल (NGT) ने हिमाचल प्रदेश सरकार को यह स्पष्ट करने का निर्देश दिया है कि क्या उसने कोक्सर और मनाली व सोलंग वैली जैसे आस-पास के पर्यटन स्थलों के लिए क्षमता पर कोई फैसला लिया है। यह निर्देश पर्यटकों की बढ़ती संख्या के पर्यावरणीय प्रभाव के बारे में चिंताओं के बीच आया है। NGT ने राज्य सरकार को छह सप्ताह के भीतर जवाब दाखिल करने का आदेश दिया। हिमाचल प्रदेश राज्य प्रदूषण नियंत्रण बोर्ड ने पहले पर्यटकों की संख्या को नियंत्रित करने के लिए क्षमता निर्धारण पर निर्णय का अनुरोध किया था।
