Bangladesh Sentences 7 Hasina Aides to Death

Seven aides of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have been sentenced to death in absentia by a tribunal in Dhaka. They were convicted of crimes against humanity, including murder, for their roles in suppressing the 2024 uprising. This brings the total death sentences related to the crackdown to 22, with 68 people convicted overall. The tribunal also ordered the confiscation of half the assets of five of the convicted men for compensation.

ढाका की एक अदालत ने अपदस्थ प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना के सात सहयोगियों को गैरहाजिर में मौत की सजा सुनाई है। उन पर 2024 के विद्रोह को दबाने में हत्या जैसे मानवता के खिलाफ अपराधों का दोषी पाया गया। इस कार्रवाई से अब तक कुल 22 लोगों को मौत की सजा और 68 लोगों को दोषी ठहराया जा चुका है। अदालत ने पांच दोषियों की आधी संपत्ति जब्त करने का भी आदेश दिया है।
