Telangana HC Dismisses Divorce Plea Citing Petty Issues

Times of India · india

The Telangana High Court has dismissed a US-returnee man's divorce appeals, ruling that his allegations of cruelty against his wife lacked credible evidence. The court observed that trivial issues do not constitute mental cruelty warranting divorce. A division bench upheld a family court's decision, rejecting the husband's petition and allowing his wife's plea for restitution of conjugal rights. The man had accused his wife and her parents of forcing him to live as a 'ghar jamai' and cited her alleged mental illness and a false domestic violence case.
