Rare Roman-era Workshop Found in Germany
Times of India · world
Archaeologists in western Dortmund, Germany, have unearthed a rare Roman-era workshop dating from the 1st to 5th centuries AD. The site features pits, furnaces, hearths, the first pottery kiln found there, and exceptionally well-preserved metalworking workshops. Excavations revealed how Germanic tribes recycled Roman scrap metal using kilns and bellows. This discovery provides significant evidence of metal processing activities outside the Roman Empire.
