India Denies Discrimination in Satellite Service Licensing

India's Ministry of Communications has responded to allegations of discriminatory practices in its satellite communication services regulatory framework. The ministry clarified that it has established a fair and non-discriminatory authorization framework for all telecom services, including satellite communications. Three global mobile personal communication by satellite services have been granted telecom licenses under this framework. Security assessments are currently underway for all license holders, and progress to spectrum allocation will follow completion. The government stated that claims of an unfair or discriminatory framework are baseless.

भारत के संचार मंत्रालय ने अपनी सैटेलाइट संचार सेवाओं के नियामक ढांचे में भेदभावपूर्ण प्रथाओं के आरोपों पर प्रतिक्रिया दी है। मंत्रालय ने स्पष्ट किया है कि उसने सैटेलाइट संचार सहित सभी दूरसंचार सेवाओं के लिए एक निष्पक्ष और गैर-भेदभावपूर्ण प्राधिकरण ढांचा स्थापित किया है। इस ढांचे के तहत तीन वैश्विक मोबाइल व्यक्तिगत संचार द्वारा सैटेलाइट सेवाओं को दूरसंचार लाइसेंस दिए गए हैं। सभी लाइसेंस धारकों के लिए सुरक्षा मूल्यांकन वर्तमान में चल रहे हैं, और स्पेक्ट्रम आवंटन की प्रगति पूरी होने के बाद होगी। सरकार ने कहा कि एक अनुचित या भेदभावपूर्ण ढांचे के दावे निराधार हैं।
