The patient suffered from Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma, a rare cancer that had spread to his airway and a major blood vessel. Using a specialized technique called double-sleeve left upper lobectomy, surgeons removed the tumor and affected parts of the airway and blood vessel. This complex seven-hour surgery allowed them to reconstruct these vital structures and preserve the lower part of the left lung.
