Native Animals Return to NSW Reserves After Fencing

Thirteen native animal species, once locally extinct in New South Wales, have returned and are breeding again in three major conservation reserves. This recovery follows the construction of large predator-proof fences in 2016 to exclude feral cats and foxes. The initiative, a decade-long partnership involving NSW National Parks, Australian Wildlife Conservancy, and UNSW, has seen species like the greater bilby and numbat thrive.
