Indian Rupee Rises for Fourth Day, Gains 19 Paise Against Dollar

Times of India - Business · business

The Indian rupee appreciated by 19 paise to close at 95.17 against the US dollar on Wednesday, marking its fourth consecutive session of gains. This rise was supported by interventions from the RBI aimed at curbing speculative demand and limiting foreign exchange exposure. Forex traders noted the rupee reached a one-month high due to these RBI measures, a weaker dollar, and easing US Treasury yields. However, domestic market weakness prevented sharper gains, with the rupee having strengthened by 171 paise over the last four trading sessions.
