NHAI to Inspect 17 Highway Projects with Abnormally Low Bids for Quality

NHAI will conduct special quality inspections on 17 under-construction National Highway projects with bid values more than 15% lower than estimated costs. These inspections, in addition to regular checks, aim to identify and rectify quality issues early. The first round of inspections is expected to be completed by December 2026. Specialized teams led by experienced retired engineers will examine construction work, materials, and workmanship against approved standards. This initiative focuses on projects with construction costs over ₹500 crore and significant tender discounts.
