SHRC Notices Issued Over Stray Dog Menace

The State Human Rights Commission has registered a case and issued notices to the Principal Secretary of the Local Self-Government department and the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation Secretary. This action follows a complaint alleging authorities are failing to address a dangerous rise in stray dog attacks across Thiruvananthapuram district. Social activist P.K. Raju filed the complaint, citing media reports and stating that daily life has become unbearable for residents. The complainant alleged that responsible officials have not taken action despite an increase in attack hotspots.
