Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi has stated that the SIR of voter lists in the state was conducted correctly. He clarified that his objections were not to the SIR process itself, but to its implementation in states like Bihar, West Bengal, and Maharashtra. Jarkiholi explained that the approximately one crore names removed were of deceased individuals, those who had relocated, or duplicate entries. He asserted that a similar rigorous process should be adopted nationwide to ensure accurate voter rolls.
