Delhi Police Restricts Movement, Shuts Metro Stations Ahead of Protest

Delhi Police have imposed significant restrictions ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, prohibiting gatherings of four or more people, is in effect. Police are actively discouraging participation by visiting colleges and public places. Trains arriving in Delhi on Saturday have been cancelled, and authorities have requested the closure of 57 metro stations to manage the situation and prevent potential disruptions.

दिल्ली पुलिस ने जंतर मंतर पर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के इस्तीफे की मांग को लेकर होने वाले विरोध प्रदर्शन से पहले कई पाबंदियां लगा दी हैं और धारा 163 लागू कर दी है, जिसके तहत चार या उससे अधिक लोगों के इकट्ठा होने पर रोक है। पुलिस कॉलेजों और सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर जाकर लोगों को विरोध में शामिल होने से रोक रही है। दिल्ली आने वाली शनिवार की ट्रेनें रद्द कर दी गई हैं और 57 मेट्रो स्टेशनों को बंद करने का अनुरोध किया गया है ताकि स्थिति को संभाला जा सके और किसी भी तरह की गड़बड़ी को रोका जा सके।
