Yemen Health System Faces Collapse Due To Funding

Yemen's health minister has warned that some areas could lose all health services due to declining funding. The health sector is struggling with a lack of resources, leading to facility closures and shortages of essential medicines and supplies. Emergency services, maternal care, vaccinations, and treatments for cancer and dialysis are particularly at risk. Health data from June 2026 indicates 19.3 million people need assistance, but only 17 percent of required funding has been secured. The minister noted that less than 50 percent of health facilities are operating at full capacity.

यमन के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री ने चेतावनी दी है कि फंडिंग में गिरावट के कारण कुछ इलाकों में स्वास्थ्य सेवाएं पूरी तरह से बंद हो सकती हैं। स्वास्थ्य क्षेत्र संसाधनों की कमी से जूझ रहा है, जिससे सुविधाओं के बंद होने और ज़रूरी दवाओं व आपूर्ति की कमी हो रही है। आपातकालीन सेवाएं, मातृ देखभाल, टीकाकरण, और कैंसर व डायलिसिस के इलाज विशेष रूप से जोखिम में हैं। जून 2026 के स्वास्थ्य डेटा से पता चलता है कि 19.3 मिलियन लोगों को सहायता की ज़रूरत है, लेकिन आवश्यक फंडिंग का केवल 17 प्रतिशत ही सुरक्षित हो पाया है। मंत्री ने बताया कि 50 प्रतिशत से कम स्वास्थ्य सुविधाएं पूरी क्षमता से काम कर रही हैं।
