Brazil Senator Flávio Bolsonaro Ordered To Surrender Passports After Election Loss
The Guardian · world
Brazil's far-right senator Flávio Bolsonaro has been banned from leaving the country and ordered to surrender his passports following his election loss. Supreme court justice Alexandre de Moraes issued the ruling, referencing a money-laundering investigation. The order also prohibits Bolsonaro from contacting a lawyer linked to betting companies suspected of laundering approximately £680 million. This comes as Bolsonaro faces scrutiny in another case involving £20 million for a biopic about his father. His Senate term concludes early next year, removing his special jurisdiction.
