Yashvir Singh received a surprise call from Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, informing him of an injury and suggesting he take his place in the Indian javelin squad for the Asian Games. Chopra, ruled out due to an ankle ligament injury, encouraged Yashvir to speak with the federation. Yashvir's name was subsequently included in the squad. He had previously won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games with a personal best throw of 85.41m, a performance where Chopra also motivated him. Yashvir is now preparing to compete in Aichi-Nagoya.
