15-Year-Old Elephant Found Dead Near Reservoir

A 15-year-old female elephant was discovered dead in the Bhavanisagar reservoir area, within the Sirumugai forest range of Coimbatore. Forest officials have stated that the elephant succumbed to liver cirrhosis. A post-mortem examination was conducted by veterinarians, who also collected samples for further laboratory analysis. Following veterinary advice, the carcass was left at the site to provide sustenance for other wild animals in the reserve forest.

कोयंबटूर के सिरुमुगाई वन रेंज में भवानीसागर जलाशय इलाके में 15 साल की एक मादा हाथी मृत पाई गई। वन अधिकारियों ने बताया कि हाथी की मौत लिवर सिरोसिस से हुई। पशु चिकित्सकों ने पोस्टमार्टम किया और आगे की जांच के लिए नमूने भी लिए। पशु चिकित्सा सलाह के बाद, जंगल के अन्य जंगली जानवरों के लिए भोजन उपलब्ध कराने हेतु शव को उसी स्थान पर छोड़ दिया गया।
