Pinarayi Vijayan Challenges Kerala HC Order on FIR Registration in Pay-off Case

Keralam Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan has filed an appeal before the Kerala High Court, challenging a Single Judge order that directed the registration of an FIR against him, his daughter T. Veena, and son-in-law P.A. Mohamed Riyas. This move comes after the Supreme Court stayed a Kerala Police probe into the FIR for seven days. The Single Bench had ordered the FIR registration under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, based on information from the Directorate of Enforcement regarding an alleged ₹2.78-crore pay-off case.

केरल के नेता प्रतिपक्ष पिनराई विजयन ने केरल हाई कोर्ट में एक सिंगल जज के उस आदेश को चुनौती देते हुए अपील दायर की है, जिसमें उनके, उनकी बेटी टी. वीणा और दामाद पी.ए. मोहम्मद रियास के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज करने का निर्देश दिया गया था। यह कदम सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा केरल पुलिस की FIR जांच पर सात दिनों के लिए रोक लगाने के बाद आया है। सिंगल बेंच ने Directorate of Enforcement से मिली जानकारी के आधार पर, कथित ₹2.78 करोड़ के पे-ऑफ मामले में भ्रष्टाचार निवारण अधिनियम, 1988 के तहत FIR दर्ज करने का आदेश दिया था।
