A Minneapolis restaurant that protested US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) by offering donation-based meals will permanently close by the end of 2026. Modern Times Café, which rebranded as Post Modern Times, adopted a free and donation-based model in January, stating it would not serve ICE agents. Owner Dylan Alverson cited exhaustion of options without compromising core principles after six years of trying to keep the business afloat. The remaining months will be used to celebrate the restaurant's 16-year history and explore ways to sustain similar independent establishments.
