Chennai Man Arrested for House Break-in, Theft of Gold Worth ₹28 Lakh

Chennai police have arrested a 63-year-old man, Ramesh Agarwal, for breaking into a house in Muthialpet and stealing 23 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth ₹28 lakh and cash. The complainant discovered the theft upon returning home from work to find his door and wardrobe broken. Police recovered the stolen gold jewellery and ₹1.6 lakh in cash from Agarwal. An accomplice involved in the crime had already fled to another state with a portion of the stolen valuables.

चेन्नई पुलिस ने मुथियालपेट में एक घर में घुसकर ₹28 लाख के 23 सोने के गहने और नकदी चुराने के आरोप में 63 वर्षीय रमेश अग्रवाल को गिरफ्तार किया है। शिकायतकर्ता ने काम से घर लौटने पर दरवाजा और अलमारी टूटी हुई पाई और चोरी का पता चला। पुलिस ने अग्रवाल के पास से चोरी के गहने और ₹1.6 लाख नकद बरामद किए। अपराध में शामिल एक साथी पहले से ही चोरी के माल का एक हिस्सा लेकर दूसरे राज्य भाग गया था।
