JNU Hostel Fails Northeast Student Quota

Jawaharlal Nehru University's Barak Hostel, intended for students from the Northeast, reportedly houses only 12% from the region. This falls short of the 75:25 reservation recommended by the Bezbaruah Committee twelve years ago. Despite being only two years old, the building is already showing signs of disrepair, raising concerns about its upkeep and adherence to its intended purpose for students from the Northeast.

जेएनयू के बारक हॉस्टल में पूर्वोत्तर के छात्रों के लिए सिर्फ़ १२% छात्र हैं, जबकि बेज़बरुआ समिति ने ७५:२५ आरक्षण की सिफ़ारिश की थी। यह हॉस्टल सिर्फ़ दो साल पुराना है, लेकिन इसमें पहले से ही टूट-फूट के निशान दिखने लगे हैं। इससे हॉस्टल के रखरखाव और पूर्वोत्तर के छात्रों के लिए इसके उद्देश्य पर सवाल उठ रहे हैं।
