Jonny Bairstow Slams ECB Over George Hill's England Lions Snub

Times of India · sports

Former England wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow has strongly criticised the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for omitting Yorkshire all-rounder George Hill from the latest England Lions squads. Bairstow believes Hill's consistent performances with both bat and ball warrant an international opportunity. The 25-year-old has been overlooked for upcoming T20 and 50-over series against West Indies A. Bairstow highlighted Hill's all-round capabilities, questioning the selectors' decision and calling it an 'absolute joke'. Hill previously earned a Lions call-up in May 2025 but is now excluded from white-ball selections.
