Delhi's ILBS Tests Over 30,000 Blood Donations With Advanced NAT Screening
Hindustan Times · health
The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) in Delhi has screened over 30,000 blood donor samples using Individual Donor Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) since January 2024. ILBS is currently the only Delhi government hospital offering this advanced molecular screening technology. NAT testing detects the genetic material of viruses like HIV, Hepatitis B, and C, significantly reducing the window period for early infection detection compared to conventional tests. The institute's facility has the capacity to support all Delhi government blood centres, enhancing the safety of donated blood for transfusions.
Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS)
