A 15-year-old Shih Tzu named Angel in Pune has undergone a groundbreaking medical procedure, marking what veterinarians believe to be the first Transurethral Resection of Urinary Bladder Tumour (TURBT) on a pet animal in India. Angel was diagnosed with two aggressive transitional cell carcinoma tumours in her urinary bladder. Given her age and size, doctors opted for the minimally invasive TURBT technique over conventional surgery. The successful procedure has given Angel a new lease on life, offering relief to her family.
