A significant discovery involved an international smuggling racket operating from Bengaluru Rural, attempting to export rice repackaged under a foreign trade name. कर्नाटक के अधिकारियों ने काला बाज़ार सिंडिकेट के खिलाफ तीन दिन के अभियान के दौरान करीब ₹1.34 करोड़ की कीमत का 564.99 टन पब्लिक डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन सिस्टम (PDS) चावल जब्त किया है। इस बहु-एजेंसी अभियान में ₹3.41 करोड़ की बीस ट्रांसपोर्ट गाड़ियां भी जब्त की गईं और एसेंशियल कमोडिटीज एक्ट के तहत छह आपराधिक मामले दर्ज किए गए। एक महत्वपूर्ण खोज में बेंगलुरु रूरल से संचालित एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय तस्करी रैकेट का पता चला, जो विदेशी व्यापार नाम के तहत चावल को रीपैक करके निर्यात करने की कोशिश कर रहा था। जांच में एक मैसूर-आधारित फर्म द्वारा बड़े पैमाने पर अवैध व्यापार का खुलासा हुआ।
