India Inc Credit Quality Strong Despite Headwinds, Rating Agency Icra Reports
Business Standard · business
India Inc entered the second half of FY27 with strong credit profiles, according to rating agency Icra. The credit ratio, indicating upgrades versus downgrades, stood at 3.2 times in H1 FY27, well above the 10-year average. While the upgrade rate moderated, the downgrade rate fell to a multi-year low of 4%, highlighting underlying credit strength. Despite expected moderation in consumption growth due to elevated crude oil prices, deficient monsoons, and rising inflation, strong corporate balance sheets are anticipated to prevent broad-based credit stress.
