Mawlid festivities in Ethiopia's Tigray region have been cancelled due to fears of drone strikes. This follows the last-minute cancellation of another major Tigrayan festival, Ashenda, for the same reason. Recent drone strikes have targeted northern Ethiopia amid escalating tensions between the Tigray People’s Liberation Front and the Ethiopian government.
