The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will revert to being held every two years, reversing a previous decision to make it a quadrennial event. This change aims to advance and protect the interests of African football and its member associations. CAF President Patrice Motsepe stated that the Nations League would require years to generate sufficient revenue to sustain African football.
