UGC Flags 78 Karnataka Colleges For 132 Pending Student Fee Refund Complaints

UGC has identified 78 colleges and universities in Karnataka for failing to refund student fees after seat cancellations. A total of 132 complaints remain unresolved, with 110 students receiving no refund and 22 getting only partial amounts. The majority of these cases involve engineering disciplines, followed by management and business administration courses. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, institutions continue to disregard directives, causing hardship to students and impacting the credibility of the higher education system. The UGC has now sought the governor's intervention.

यूजीसी ने कर्नाटक के 78 कॉलेजों और विश्वविद्यालयों को सीट रद्द होने के बाद छात्रों की फीस वापस करने में विफल रहने के लिए चिह्नित किया है। कुल 132 शिकायतें अनसुलझी बनी हुई हैं, जिनमें 110 छात्रों को कोई रिफंड नहीं मिला और 22 को आंशिक राशि मिली। इन मामलों में अधिकांश इंजीनियरिंग विषयों से संबंधित हैं, इसके बाद प्रबंधन और व्यवसाय प्रशासन के पाठ्यक्रम हैं। मुद्दे को हल करने के बार-बार प्रयास के बावजूद, संस्थान निर्देशों की अवहेलना करना जारी रखते हैं, जिससे छात्रों को कठिनाई होती है और उच्च शिक्षा प्रणाली की विश्वसनीयता प्रभावित होती है। यूजीसी ने अब राज्यपाल से हस्तक्षेप करने का आग्रह किया है।
