Households not completing biometric Aadhaar authentication for LPG refills by October 1 will lose subsidised 14.2 kg cylinders. They will instead receive smaller 5 kg or 10 kg cylinders at market prices, which are significantly higher. This move aims to ensure subsidised LPG reaches only genuine consumers and prevent diversion for commercial use. As of September 19, nearly 90% of domestic LPG consumers have completed the authentication process.
