Maharashtra Tops With 64 Maoist Frontal Groups; 46 Banned Nationwide

Maharashtra has the highest number of Maoist frontal organizations in India, with 64 active groups, according to a state government affidavit filed in the Bombay High Court. The affidavit, citing Home Ministry data, also revealed 29 such organizations in Telangana and 19 in Andhra Pradesh. Across six states, a total of 80 organizations were identified, with 46 facing a nationwide ban. The government stated that Maharashtra's high number is due to its large urban population, making it a hub for urban Maoist networks.

महाराष्ट्र में भारत के सबसे ज़्यादा माओवादी फ्रंटल संगठन हैं, जिनमें 64 सक्रिय ग्रुप हैं। यह जानकारी बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट में राज्य सरकार के एक हलफनामे से सामने आई है। गृह मंत्रालय के आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, तेलंगाना में 29 और आंध्र प्रदेश में 19 ऐसे संगठन हैं। छह राज्यों में कुल 80 संगठनों की पहचान की गई, जिनमें से 46 पर देशव्यापी प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया है। सरकार ने कहा कि महाराष्ट्र में इनकी ज़्यादा संख्या शहरी आबादी के कारण है, जो शहरी माओवादी नेटवर्क का केंद्र है।
