Iran's parliament has approved Mehrdad Akhlaqi Ketabchi as the new Defence Minister, ending months of interim leadership. Ketabchi, who has decades of experience in Iran's defence industry, particularly in aerospace and missile sectors, replaces Majid Ebn al-Reza. Al-Reza had taken over after the previous minister was killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes in February. Ketabchi pledged to rebuild military-industrial infrastructure and accelerate defence technology development.
