Karnataka Villagers Protest Water Shortage By Tying Cow In Officer's Office
Times of India · india
Residents of Kadur village in Haveri, Karnataka, protested a severe drinking water shortage affecting 20 to 25 households for three to four years. They tied a cow inside the panchayat development officer's office to draw attention to their plight, as repeated appeals had gone unanswered. The villagers demanded that authorities either supply water or care for their livestock. Following the protest, the CEO directed officials to resolve the issue, and an engineer assured that water supply arrangements would be made within 10 to 12 days, leading to the protest's withdrawal.
