Mumbai BMC Seeks Private Partner For Bhagwati Hospital After U-Turn

Times of India · health

BMC has initiated a tender process to appoint a private operator for the newly redeveloped 490-bed Bhagwati Hospital in Borivli. This move comes a year after assurances that the hospital would not be privatised. The private operator will manage the hospital on a public-private partnership (PPP) model for 30 years, investing at least Rs 150 crore and paying BMC an annual rent of Rs 6.6 crore. At least 50% of beds will be reserved for BMC patients and government scheme beneficiaries, with capped treatment charges.
