Mumbai Vets Use 3D-Printed Titanium Jaw To Save Stray Dog
Times of India · good-news
Veterinarians in Vasai, Mumbai, have successfully fitted a rescued stray dog with a custom 3D-printed titanium alloy lower jaw. The dog, named Jaw, suffered severe damage to her mandible after a road accident. Instead of removing the damaged portion, the team opted for reconstruction using a patient-specific implant. This innovative procedure, involving detailed 3D modeling and titanium alloy printing, marks a rare veterinary advancement in India. Jaw is now recovering well and eating normally with her new jaw.
