A 71-year-old unemployed man in Singapore has lost his entire retirement savings of S$21,688 after falling victim to a lottery scam advertised on Facebook. The man, identified as Yang, was promised winning lottery numbers by scammers who demanded various payments for information and to claim a supposed S$300,000 prize. After multiple demands for fees, Yang realised he had been cheated and filed a police report. He is now surviving on instant noodles and bread, with police investigations ongoing.
