India's fisheries sector has seen significant growth, with fish production rising from 9.6 million tonnes in 2013-14 to 19.8 million tonnes in 2024-25. To protect fish farmers from risks like disease and climate change, the government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samruddhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY). This scheme provides insurance coverage for various species, including shrimp and freshwater fish. Eligible farmers receive up to 40% incentive on insurance premiums, with financial assistance directly credited to their accounts via the National Fisheries Digital Platform.

भारत के मत्स्य पालन क्षेत्र में काफी वृद्धि हुई है, मछली उत्पादन 2013-14 में 9.6 मिलियन टन से बढ़कर 2024-25 में 19.8 मिलियन टन हो गया है। मछली पालकों को बीमारी और जलवायु परिवर्तन जैसे जोखिमों से बचाने के लिए, सरकार ने प्रधानमंत्री मत्स्य किसान समृद्धि सह-योजना (PM-MKSSY) शुरू की है। यह योजना झींगा और ताजे पानी की मछलियों सहित विभिन्न प्रजातियों के लिए बीमा कवर प्रदान करती है। पात्र किसानों को बीमा प्रीमियम पर 40% तक का प्रोत्साहन मिलता है, जिसमें वित्तीय सहायता सीधे National Fisheries Digital Platform के माध्यम से उनके खातों में जमा की जाती है।
