तेलंगाना के पूर्व मंत्री टी हरीश राव ने राज्य सरकार से चावल और अन्य आवश्यक वस्तुओं की बढ़ती कीमतों की तत्काल समीक्षा करने की मांग की है। उन्होंने कांग्रेस सरकार पर महंगाई को नियंत्रित करने में विफल रहने की आलोचना की, यह बताते हुए कि बढ़िया चावल की कीमतें चार महीनों में लगभग 25% बढ़ गई हैं। राव ने रिकॉर्ड कृषि उत्पादन के दावों के बावजूद कीमतों में वृद्धि पर सवाल उठाया, यह सुझाव देते हुए कि बिचौलिए मुनाफा कमा रहे हैं जबकि उपभोक्ता और किसान पीड़ित हैं। उन्होंने प्याज, लहसुन और विभिन्न तेलों और दालों की कीमतों में तेज वृद्धि को भी उजागर किया, जमाखोरी और मुनाफाखोरी के खिलाफ हस्तक्षेप की मांग की।
