Foreign Investors Pull Rs 34,843 Crore From Indian Stocks In October

Times of India · stocks

Foreign portfolio investors withdrew Rs 34,843 crore from Indian equities in October, marking the second consecutive month of selling. This outflow was driven by concerns over high crude oil prices, global interest rates, and corporate earnings outlook. However, investors turned net buyers towards the end of the month, purchasing around Rs 6,300 crore in the last few days. This late-month buying suggests an improvement in near-term sentiment, though experts caution against assuming a sustained reversal. Cumulative FPI outflows from Indian equities have now reached Rs 2.95 lakh crore in 2026.
