ED to Register Money Laundering Case Over Failed Messi Visit to Keralam

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) will register a money laundering case concerning financial irregularities linked to a planned international friendly match featuring Lionel Messi in Kochi, Keralam, in 2025. The ED's Kochi unit will file an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) based on a police First Information Report (FIR) registered on September 15, 2026. The FIR alleges cheating and criminal conspiracy related to securing an exemption from a ₹5 crore security deposit for the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium.

प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ईडी) 2025 में केरल के कोच्चि में लियोनेल मेस्सी की एक नियोजित अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैत्री मैच से जुड़ी वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के संबंध में मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग का मामला दर्ज करेगा। ईडी की कोच्चि इकाई 15 सितंबर, 2026 को दर्ज पुलिस की प्रथम सूचना रिपोर्ट (एफआईआर) के आधार पर एक प्रवर्तन मामला सूचना रिपोर्ट (ईसीआईआर) दायर करेगी। एफआईआर में जवाहरलाल नेहरू अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्टेडियम के लिए ₹5 करोड़ की सुरक्षा जमा राशि से छूट हासिल करने से संबंधित धोखाधड़ी और आपराधिक साजिश का आरोप लगाया गया है।
