Seven Italian Students Build 20-Metre Paper Aircraft, Set New World Record

Seven engineering students from the University of Pisa have set a new Guinness World Record with a giant paper aircraft named Icarus. The aircraft boasts a 20.04-metre wingspan and successfully flew 59 metres inside a hangar in Bologna, Italy. This achievement surpasses a record that had stood since 2013, which was held by a German institute with an 18.21-metre wingspan. The project involved months of planning, computer simulations, and construction using only paper and glue, expanding to include 16 additional helpers.
