The architectural design of Hyderabad's new Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Secretariat draws inspiration from the historic Vanaparthy Sansthanam fort. The fort, built in the 19th century by Raja Deitiya Rameshwar Rao, was a prominent princely state during the Nizam era. It was ruled by 13 kings and 3 queens, including notable warrior queens. After India's independence, the palace's significant portion was donated for educational purposes, leading to the establishment of the state's first government polytechnic college.
