Lyricist Prasoon Joshi believes authentic storytelling is key to enduring songs, films, and advertisements. He shared that personal childhood experiences, like his fear of being alone when his mother left for work, formed the emotional foundation for the National Award-winning song 'Maa, Main Kabhi Batlata Nahin' from Taare Zameen Par. Joshi also noted how nature in his native Uttarakhand shaped his imagination. He encourages young artists from smaller towns to embrace their regional identity and accent, rather than trying to assimilate into big city culture.

गीतकार प्रसून जोशी का मानना है कि सच्ची कहानियाँ ही गानों, फिल्मों और विज्ञापनों को लंबे समय तक चलने वाली बनाती हैं। उन्होंने बताया कि उनके बचपन के निजी अनुभव, जैसे कि जब उनकी माँ काम पर जाती थीं तो अकेले रहने का उनका डर, 'तारे ज़मीन पर' के राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार विजेता गाने 'माँ, मैं कभी बतलाता नहीं' की भावनात्मक नींव बने। जोशी ने यह भी बताया कि उनके मूल उत्तराखंड की प्रकृति ने उनकी कल्पना को कैसे आकार दिया। वह छोटे शहरों के युवा कलाकारों को बड़े शहर की संस्कृति में घुलने-मिलने की कोशिश करने के बजाय अपनी क्षेत्रीय पहचान और लहजे को अपनाने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करते हैं।
