Centre Seeks Punjab Report on Drug Killings, Suicide Amid Political Row

The Union Home Ministry has demanded a detailed report from the Punjab government regarding two drug-linked killings and a suicide by an addict's father. These incidents include the daylight killing of an anti-drug activist in Mansa and the murder of a man in Batala by alleged drug peddlers. The MHA also requested information on a Dalit man's alleged suicide after a public spat with Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema.

केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय ने पंजाब सरकार से दो ड्रग्स से जुड़ी हत्याओं और एक नशेड़ी के पिता की आत्महत्या के बारे में विस्तृत रिपोर्ट मांगी है। इन घटनाओं में मानसा में एक नशा-विरोधी कार्यकर्ता की दिनदहाड़े हत्या और बटाला में कथित ड्रग पेडलर्स द्वारा एक व्यक्ति की हत्या शामिल है। गृह मंत्रालय ने वित्त मंत्री हरपाल सिंह चीमा के साथ सार्वजनिक झगड़े के बाद एक दलित व्यक्ति की कथित आत्महत्या के बारे में भी जानकारी मांगी है।
