Five infant orangutans, a species native to Sumatra and Borneo, were discovered in a forest in India's eastern Odisha state last week. This discovery raises concerns about exotic animal smuggling into India, which is becoming a destination for trafficked wildlife. Indonesia has requested India to determine the origin of the apes and return them if they are from their native habitat.
