SEBI has relaxed KYC norms for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), and foreign citizens residing outside India. Effective, individuals can complete the registration process digitally without needing to be physically present in India. This move aims to simplify the onboarding process for overseas investors and reduce compliance burdens. Intermediaries can now accept KYC information and documents digitally, facilitating easier registration and document exchange between KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs).
