Bihar Engineer Under Probe For Disproportionate Assets; Wife Owns Land

Bihar's Vigilance Investigation Bureau has taken action against rural works department engineer Chandrashekhar Singh for allegedly possessing assets worth ₹1.10 crore more than his known income. Raids were conducted at four locations in Patna, Chhapra, Katihar, and Darjeeling. Officials recovered ₹5 lakh in cash and gold-silver ornaments. Notably, investigation revealed that the engineer's wife, Shweta Kumari, purchased 92 decimal (approx. 31 katthas) of land near the National Highway in 2021. The bureau is now scrutinizing the land purchase documents and the source of funds.

बिहार के ग्रामीण कार्य विभाग के इंजीनियर चंद्र शेखर सिंह के खिलाफ विजिलेंस जांच ब्यूरो ने कार्रवाई की है। आरोप है कि उनके पास आय से 1.10 करोड़ रुपये ज़्यादा संपत्ति है। पटना, छपरा, कटिहार और दार्जिलिंग में चार जगहों पर छापेमारी हुई। अधिकारियों को 5 लाख रुपये नकद और सोने-चांदी के गहने मिले। जांच में पता चला कि इंजीनियर की पत्नी श्वेता कुमारी ने 2021 में नेशनल हाईवे के पास 92 डेसीमल (लगभग 31 कट्ठा) ज़मीन खरीदी थी। ब्यूरो अब ज़मीन की खरीद के कागज़ात और पैसों के स्रोत की जांच कर रहा है।
