The bench refused to interfere with a previous order that had cancelled a Central Information Commission directive from 2016, leading to Kejriwal's fine. The court also made strong remarks regarding the use of RTI procedures.

गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने दिल्ली के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल की ₹25,000 के जुर्माने को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका खारिज कर दी है। यह जुर्माना प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की डिग्री मामले के संबंध में लगाया गया था। कोर्ट ने पहले के जुर्माने को बरकरार रखा और कहा कि राजनीतिक मंशा से कानूनी प्रक्रियाओं का इस्तेमाल नहीं होना चाहिए। कोर्ट ने उस पिछले आदेश में हस्तक्षेप करने से इनकार कर दिया जिसने 2016 के Central Information Commission के निर्देश को रद्द कर दिया था, जिसके कारण केजरीवाल पर जुर्माना लगा था। कोर्ट ने RTI प्रक्रियाओं के इस्तेमाल को लेकर भी कड़ी टिप्पणी की।
