Times of India · india
Andhra Pradesh is preparing to conduct panchayat elections in three phases, bringing the decades-old territorial dispute over 21 villages in Kotia panchayat back into focus. The electoral exercise will cover areas under Parvathipuram Manyam district, which includes villages claimed by both Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. While polling dates for the disputed Kotia villages have not been specified, this move has raised concerns about potential confrontation. Odisha maintains all 28 villages are part of its Koraput district, while Andhra Pradesh claims 21 and provides administrative services there.
