Panchayats to Offer Land for EV Charging Stations, Boosting Rural Revenue

The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has partnered with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to establish electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping stations on Panchayat land. This initiative aims to generate additional revenue for rural local bodies and expand clean mobility infrastructure beyond urban areas. The collaboration will transform Panchayat land into productive assets, supporting civic services and community welfare. CESL will manage site assessment, installation, and maintenance, while the Ministry will coordinate site identification. This move is expected to encourage cleaner mobility and reduce carbon emissions in rural India.

पंचायती राज मंत्रालय ने कन्वर्जेंस एनर्जी सर्विसेज लिमिटेड (CESL) के साथ मिलकर पंचायत की जमीन पर इलेक्ट्रिक व्हीकल (EV) चार्जिंग और बैटरी स्वैपिंग स्टेशन बनाने का करार किया है। इस पहल का मकसद शहरी इलाकों से बाहर भी ग्रामीण स्थानीय निकायों के लिए अतिरिक्त आय पैदा करना और स्वच्छ मोबिलिटी इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर का विस्तार करना है। यह सहयोग पंचायत की जमीन को उत्पादक संपत्ति में बदलेगा, जिससे नागरिक सेवाओं और सामुदायिक कल्याण में मदद मिलेगी। CESL साइट का मूल्यांकन, इंस्टॉलेशन और रखरखाव का प्रबंधन करेगा, जबकि मंत्रालय साइट की पहचान का समन्वय करेगा। इस कदम से ग्रामीण भारत में स्वच्छ मोबिलिटी को बढ़ावा मिलने और कार्बन उत्सर्जन कम होने की उम्मीद है।
