Undergraduate students at St Agnes College in Mangaluru boycotted their semester examinations on Monday, October 12, protesting the administration's decision to hold tests during the Dasara festival holidays. The examinations, scheduled from October 12 to 28, were opposed by students who felt the timetable clashed with regional celebrations. Backed by the ABVP, the students have approached the Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner seeking intervention. While police attempted to disperse the protest, examinations continued for students who chose to appear, leaving those boycotting uncertain about academic consequences.
